Forever Young

The heart that loves is always young. ~Greek Proverb

If the heart that loves
is always young
let time fall from our lips
we'll stay in love forever
and grow young together

Hole

the history thief
and his crooked passport
heal nothing

Broken

shadows
dance around
a broken soul

time crosses
empty eyes

Stairway

everybody climbs
their own staircase in life

some flights are steep, some will creak
sometimes you climb two at a time
sometimes you sit on one and cry

but not matter what, keep moving up
keep moving towards the sky

Hearts on Fire

as your melody
floats up to the stars
I worry about this fire
you've started in my heart

Aftertaste

as i pass through the gateway
between this cycle and the next
the morally mute majority
leaves a sour taste
as I step into my garden

Street Music

her limbs danced
as her body twisted
to a rogue beat

city lights
haloed an angel

piece of peace

a gloomy haze
lays on my shoulders
another deep breathe
to loosen my chest
I close my eyes
in search of peace
but only find
another piece
to worry on

bored poetry

a blank page ready to be filled
by meaningful marks of an eager pencil
swirling here and there
all over and everywhere
when the lines are full
put down your graphite tool
a finished work
is a writer's perk

across a sea of shame
in a land of dismal dames
stranded because my boat
refused to stay afloat
I sad on the beach and tried to think
but the kick in my brain evaded the link
soon, I realized, to my dismay
that here on this island I would stay
unless my useless brain became creative
the locals would surely make me a native
becoming a lame and dismal dame
lost in a sea of shame

shadowy edges

missing a minds creation
an image of perfection
with shadowy edges

Three to Get Deadly

As I packed for a family trip to the beach this month, I threw in a copy of Three to Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich at the last minute.  Turns out: wise choice!

If you want a deep, thought-provoking read, this series is not for you.  If, however, you want a fun, laughable, entertaining story grab one the Stephanie Plum novels!  In the first book of the series, One for the Money, Stephanie loses her job and in her desperation for money, she decided to track down a Failure to Appear for her cousin Vinnie, the bail bondsman.  Most of the reoccurring characters that we grow to love in the series are introduced in this first book as Stephanie tracks down her old flame, Joe Morelli, an cop suspected of killing an unarmed man.

In this third installment, Three to Get Deadly, Stephanie is at it again with the help of Ranger, a pro bounty hunter, and Lulu, an ex-hooker that now works for Vinnie.  This time she's been asked to track down Uncle Mo, a local candy store owner that is much loved by the neighborhood, who skipped his court appearance for concealing a weapon without a license.   Stephanie might be in to deep when the neighborhood turns against her, Lulu runs at ever sign of trouble, hints that Uncle Mo is offing local drug dealers and her maybe-love-interest Morelli seems to be hiding information.
